So much fun & perfect event during this arctic blast & it is too icy for nature walks. I went with 4 of my girlfriends to make terrariums. Jen was an awesome instructor and they all came out beautiful but very different...desert theme, beach look, fairy garden, woodland look etc. What is nice is there are a variety of sizes & shapes to fit a small dorm room, coffee table or grand entry table. Plan on going back again!
I took my family of 5 there this weekend. What a gem of a place!!! The owner was extremely friendly and great with our kids. She was super patient and helpful. The experience was unique and fun. Our kids ages are 9, 6 and soon to be 4. They all were able to work on their own project and loved every second of it. The plants came out beautiful and are a great decoration for our house now. Can't recommend this place enough!
This is a great place for group outings, dates, or just visiting for a bit. The owner is exceptionally friendly and will help guide you through a wide variety of options. And if you are visiting the area, you can do a moss frame so it's safe to take home and you don't have to worry about the sand art being disturbed!
A wonderful space! We spent about 90 minutes in The Plant Place today, getting our hands in the soil and making sweet little plant arrangements. This shop is bright, cheery, and full of happy energy. Going early afternoon on a Friday was great because the shop is bright and quiet. We were able to take our time and relax in our creating. Jen the owner is very warm and helpful! She showed us each step of building our pieces, explaining tools, and giving us a tour of all the plants, rocks, moss, sand and more! It was a great experience and we left so happy with our new succulent arrangements. Definitely recommend!
My friend gave me a gift certificate to The Plant Place, and we had such a great time! The ladies there were so nice, they gave us some pointers and general info like tips and tricks but really leave the creativity to you! So much flexibility with the decorations and decor you can easily spend 2 hours there between picking out goodies to put inside and how you even build your terrarium. Definitely a great place for all ages, we are already talking about doing a girls night with friends & family.

My daughter and I went here last month and had such a nice time! The owner is so friendly and took time with us and we never felt rushed. It was super fun and relaxing. It’s fun for all ages - I feel this is something my mother would enjoy, adults my age, and also kids. My daughter had a blast, especially playing with soil and choosing the tiny little figurines that you can put in your plant to decorate. I also learned that they host birthday parties and I plan to book my daughter’s next party here. It’s something different and you leave with a live memento of your experience.
Come here for an amazing, unique way to creat plant art!! Jen was so helpful and instructive when we needed it. They have a stunning array of beautiful plants to choose from. The atmosphere is so relaxed.

The Keyport Garden Club had a trip to the Plant place and it was fantastic. The owner was Jennifer so informative, helpful and so welcoming. It was so easy to book on line for a group and they collected everyone’s money. This place is great for parties, groups and individuals. The $20 reservation online goes toward your project cost. The projects range from $25-$100. You get to pick your container and that cost includes all materials of your choice. We all had a blast. Absolutely fabulous night. I can’t wait to go back.
Happened upon this beauty of gem plant place and it exceeded all expectations. The owner Jenn couldn’t more helpful and gave a great explanation of the process. I felt like a botanist and artist all at once. Will definitely be back! Fun to create memories that last as long as my new plant.
🌱🪴Had an absolutely amazing time here!! Brought my oldest daughter for some mom and me time ( she's 34 lol) and enjoyed it immensely ! What I enjoyed most was being able to create whatever you wanted as opposed to having certain options to chose from. If you aren't creative there are countless examples to replicate and the owner was very hands on explaining everything we needed to know to not only make something beautiful, something that will grow and be long lasting. For me this place was a refreshing change from painting pictures or ceramics. I cannot wait to go back with my other daughters and make more beautiful plant creations and memories!! 💕🌱🌵🍄🪴
So much fun for the whole family! We went with my kids 9 and 11, and my sister's 16 year old daughter. Everyone was able to make their own. Jen did a great job teaching us and showing us what's possible. As my 9 yo said 'fun! Fun fun fun fun!'

Definitely one of my new favorite activities. There are so many options to choose from and ways to create your own little oasis! It is something that is fun for all ages and really brings out a new creative side to you! Can’t wait to go back again!!!
It took a little bit pushing to get my boyfriend to go, but once I got him there, he was totally into it. The BYO definitely helped ;) We both had a great time and I have to admit his terrarium project came out better than mine!!

What is The Plant Place?
The Plant Place is a plant art shop offering DIY terrarium and plant craft making experiences, workshops, and events. We combine nature-inspired activities, crafts, and plant art in an environment that instills creativity, inspiration and is fun! Easy to care for plants such as cacti, succulents and air plants are used, making it easy to enjoy your plant art.
Can I buy terrariums and other plant art? Do I have to make them?
Yes! Beautiful terrariums, plants and plant art can be purchased in our store. Some of our products like our Terrarium Kits, tee-shirts and bulb packs can be purchased online and delivered nationwide. See our ‘Available For Delivery’ products on the Products page.
Need a unique gift?
Don’t have time to make your own plant art? Visit our online shop to have a unique plant art piece delivered or you can pick it up in the shop.
Do I need a reservation?
No, but it is highly recommended, and all reservation fees are applied to your final bill. Do you have a group of 6 or more? Celebrating an event or having a local fundraiser? Check out our Parties and Events page where you request space for larger groups.
How does it work/how long does it take?
First, you choose your container or plant art project. Printed project guides are at each table, but a Plant Place team member will be happy to provide guidance and helpful hints. The Plant Place provides all materials and plants needed to complete your project. Projects usually take 1 to 2 hours to complete, but very large projects can take longer. We will not rush you.
How do I take care of succulents, cacti and air plants?
The Resources section of our website has complete succulent, cacti and air plant care instructions and tips.
What is the difference between a Party and an Event?
When a Party booking is made, the host is responsible for paying for all the projects completed by party attendees. This includes the $100 deposit for parties over 20 people. All deposits will be applied to the final party bill.
For Events, each event attendee is usually responsible for paying for the project that is completed. The event host sets up all the details, and we will provide a link for your attendees to confirm their attendance and submit a deposit. Every deposit goes straight toward each person’s final bill.
How much does it cost?
Cost is based on the container or plant art project chosen, and includes all plants and/or materials to make the plant art piece. The Plant Place offers a variety of terrarium containers and plant art projects to choose from that range in price from $15 for small air plant terrariums, to $100+ for our larger projects. Our average project price is around $35. We do have a bring your own container opportunity. We charge $4 per inch wide of the container (some containers require a custom price, so please be flexible with us).
Do you sell food and drink?
No, but BYO drinks and light snacks are welcomed.
How old do you have to be to create plant art?
Creating terrariums and plant art is easy so ALL AGES ARE WELCOME, but age 3+ is recommended (with adult supervision of course). We are handicapped/wheelchair accessible, just please contact us in advance so we can arrange for parking and entry (we have a rear entrance).
Will I get dirty?
Working with natural things like plants, soil, rocks, and sea shells is a way to get closer to nature and be creative. You might get a little dirty in the process, but dirt can always be washed off!
