Daisy Scouts, Planting Smiles, and Hugs: A Rewarding Day with Young Creators

A Daisy Girl Scout troop recently visited The Plant Place for an interactive planting experience—and a little learning too! I love welcoming Girl Scout troops, educational groups, and special needs organizations to the studio, where they can work with plants, unleash their creativity, and have fun. But I’ll admit, the thought of hosting 19 little Daisy Scouts at once was a bit intimidating!

Sure, it got a little loud and a little chaotic, but the evening turned out beautifully—just like the plant arrangements they created. The Daisy Scouts were model planters, carefully tending to their projects and even helping clean up their tools and workspace, which was such a nice surprise. But one moment truly made me pause. At the end of the night, two of the girls came behind the counter, gave me a big hug, and told me how much fun they had. They beamed as they said they couldn’t wait to come back.

In my past corporate life, I closed million-dollar deals, thinking that was fulfillment. But those two small hugs, given freely and with pure happiness, meant more to me than selling any deal ever could. Moments like these remind me why I’m so grateful to have The Plant Place.
